RotorLab.app: Acceptable Use and Drone Operations Policy
Effective date: October 9, 2026
This Acceptable Use and Drone Operations Policy (the "Policy") applies to everyone who uses RotorLab.app (the "Service") and supplements the Terms of Service. It exists to keep the Service safe, lawful, and reliable, and to make clear that responsibility for how you build and fly aircraft rests with you. We may update this Policy, investigate suspected violations, and suspend or terminate access for conduct that violates it or that creates risk or legal exposure.
PART A: Acceptable use of the Service
1. You will use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with the Terms of Service. You will not use the Service to violate the rights of others or any applicable law or regulation.
2. You will not: (a) attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems or networks; (b) probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach or circumvent any security or authentication measure, except under a written authorization from us; (c) interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service, including by denial-of-service activity or by exceeding published rate limits; (d) upload malware or malicious code; (e) scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract data except through interfaces and limits we provide; (f) misrepresent your identity or affiliation, or use the Service to spam, phish, or deceive; (g) infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights; or (h) use the Service to develop a competing product.
3. Community and shared content. When you share or publish content, you will keep it accurate and lawful and will not post anything unlawful, infringing, deceptive, harassing, or that you do not have the right to share. We may remove content and restrict accounts that violate this Policy.
4. API and automation. Automated access must respect authentication, quotas, and rate limits. We may throttle, suspend, or revoke access that degrades the Service for others.
PART B: Drone design, safety, and regulatory responsibility
5. Estimates only. The Service provides engineering estimates and design aids. It does not certify airworthiness, does not approve any operation, and is not a substitute for engineering judgment, physical testing, or professional and legal advice. You are responsible for independently validating any design and for incremental, controlled real-world testing before operational use.
6. Your operational and legal responsibility. You are solely responsible for the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of any aircraft, and for ensuring that every operation is lawful and safe. This includes, without limitation and as applicable to you: registering aircraft; holding required pilot certifications, authorizations, and remote-identification; observing airspace restrictions, altitude and distance limits, and no-fly and temporary flight-restriction zones; respecting weather, line-of-sight, and beyond-visual-line-of-sight rules; obtaining any waivers or permits; and complying with the rules of the civil aviation authority and other authorities in every jurisdiction where you operate (for example, the FAA in the United States, EASA in the European Union, the CAA in the United Kingdom, or your local equivalent), together with all applicable radio-frequency, privacy, and import/export laws.
7. Prohibited uses. You will not use the Service, or any design or information derived from it, to design, build, or operate an aircraft or system that: (a) is used as, or to deliver, a weapon or munition, or is otherwise intended to cause physical harm, except as the government and defense exception below allows; (b) conducts unlawful surveillance or violates others' privacy; (c) transports contraband; (d) interferes with manned aviation, emergency operations, or critical infrastructure; (e) violates applicable aviation, export-control, or sanctions laws; or (f) is otherwise unlawful. You will not use the Service in any manner that endangers people, property, or aircraft.
Government and defense exception. Paragraph 7(a) does not apply to lawful government, law-enforcement or defense use of the Service by a Government Customer, as the Government Customer Addendum defines it, or by a contractor acting for one under its contract with that Government Customer, where the use is carried out under that Government Customer's own legal authority and complies with the law that applies to it, including the law of armed conflict and export-control and sanctions law. The exception covers only that Government Customer and its contractor, and only for that work; for everyone else paragraph 7(a) applies in full. It does not affect paragraphs 7(b) to 7(f). RotorLab does not design, test, certify or approve any weapon, munition or its use, and the Service's outputs remain estimates under Section 5 of this Policy and Section 2 of the Terms.
8. Assumption of risk. Designing, building, and flying unmanned aircraft is inherently hazardous and can result in property damage, serious injury, or death. You knowingly and voluntarily assume all risk arising from your use of the Service and from any aircraft you design, build, or operate, and you agree that RotorLab is not responsible for those risks, as further set out in the Terms of Service.
Reporting. To report abuse, a security issue, or content that violates this Policy, contact us through the support channel shown in the Service.
Violations of this Policy may result in removal of content, suspension or termination of access, and referral to law enforcement where appropriate.
